WHEN MAKE BELIEVE BECOMES REALITY

It started with a tease. When Barbie fever hit the UK following the release of the film last summer, we thought we’d ask the question ‘What if Barbie were ever to need a trailer?’

We retouched a Bailey Trailers TB15 in pink and shared it across Bailey’s social media pages. On Facebook alone the post received over 8,000 engagements; we thought we might be onto something. During our next monthly meeting with the team at Bailey we broached the subject of a special pink trailer to raise funds for a charity.

One of the Bailey team suggested Breast Cancer Now whose corporate colour happens to be pink. A call to the Bailey office the following week revealed that a pink trailer was already in the production schedule!

With the trailer in the building, focus moved to creating an event. Holding a raffle in aid of a charity comes with a raft of terms and conditions, which must be observed. We made initial contact with Breast Cancer Now and put them in touch with Bailey to dot the I’s and cross the T’s. The net result was a free prize draw hosted on Just Giving, tickets were available on collection only from Bailey dealerships.

Creative standout was achieved through a series of assets combining Bailey’s tone of voice with colours, graphical devices and supporting typography adapted from Breast Cancer Now’s visual identity. We ran the campaign across Bailey’s social media pages and supplied dealerships with a set of assets for their own promotion. Our involvement also included email marketing, raffle tickets, invites, coverage of the prize draw including a live feed via Bailey’s Facebook page and the official handover of the cheque and trailer at the LAMMA show.

Bailey’s target for Breast Cancer Now was £25,000. The final total raised was in excess of thirty six thousand pounds.
